Punihuil penguin's nesting grounds (from Castro)
Duration:
8 hour(s) - Location:
Castro, Ancud
Our journey can begin in the cities of Castro or Ancud. After a brief trip to the Pacific, from Ancud, Puñihuil is reached. This is a secluded bay and the creek of fishermen who arrived a few years ago to these shores and have managed to sustain a relationship with three islets that make up this unique ecosystem in the world. This place is also a wildlife paradise where a community of Magellan and Humboldt penguins coexist with "chungungos" (sea otters), Upland Geese, Carancas and gulls.
Here you board boats to carry with them a voyage of observation of flora and fauna. Have time to enjoy some seafood and then return depending on the group Ancud and sightseeing before returning to Castro (if you are to return).
